PRODUCT INFO

Item Code:Sidekick

Do you want more cooking or serving space outside but aren't ready to invest in a full outdoor kitchen?  Do you need the flexibility of a small, mobile unit that can be moved around or tucked out of the way when not in use?  Do you want a product that will last outside for years to come?

If so, we designed the D.A.S. BBQ Sidekick just for you.

The BBQ Sidekick can be placed on either side of your BBQ or grill to provide extra space for placing food, drinks or utensils while cooking. Or wheel it up close to the table as a serving counter for food or drinks when it's time to eat.

The unit includes a high quality polished concrete top, sealed with outdoor grade penetrating sealer, and a professionally jointed cedar base with heavy duty locking castors to allow for easy movement.

Want something a little fancier or some extra storage?  There are lots of DIY customization options available:

  • add a shelf for extra storage
  • close in the lower storage area using cedar shingles or corrugated plastic
  • Add hooks for BBQ utensils on the side
  • Cedar base can be stained, if desired

The concrete top can be customized with any of our standard concrete colours (remember that black gets hot in the sun), or for an extra cool effect, consider a glow-in-the-dark concrete top, incorporating our top-of-the-line marble glow stone.

Please note that concrete is porous and requires regular sealing to reduce risk of stains and water penetration.  We recommend resealing the concrete top every 2-3 years with a water-based penetrating sealer such as Stonetech Bulletproof.  Spills should be wiped up promptly to minimize the risk of staining, and care should be taken to minimize contact with acidic substances, such as vinegar and lemon juice.  The use of plates and cutting boards to protect the concrete from greasy utensils and acidic substances is highly recommended, although stains and etches can be repaired.  Further information on care and maintenance can be found on our Resources page.
